Opening of Hukatai Street!

This year marked four years since the launch of Te Āhuru Mōwai. To celebrate, we held an event that highlighted our progress and the ongoing support of our community.

The main focus of the day was the blessing of 12 new social homes for whānau in Western Porirua. These homes offer more than just shelter—they provide a sense of security and stability for those who need it most.

We were joined by Ministers Christopher Bishop and Tama Potaka, along with Tā Matiu Rei, Callum Katene, Taku Parai, and Anita Baker, who helped make the day meaningful. Their presence, along with the support of our team and whānau, made the event even more significant.

For our team, the day marked years of hard work and commitment. But it was also a moment to recognise the resilience of local whānau and the strength of our community. Watching families move into their new homes reminded us of the impact of our work.

This event was a milestone, not just for Te Āhuru Mōwai, but for the future of whānau in Porirua. We look forward to continuing this journey and building on the work we’ve started.
